Find Strength in Togetherness

A Space for Parents and Caregivers to Breathe, Connect, and Be Understood

Parenting a child who’s struggling with addictions, substance use or mental health challenges can be an incredibly isolating experience. You may feel scared, angry, exhausted—or all of the above. And too often, you're expected to keep it all together.

At Recovery Inside Out, we see you. We understand healing happens not just for individuals, but for families. That’s why we created our Virtual Parent Support Group—a safe, welcoming space to find connection, clarity, and strength through community.

Why We Created This Group

Our team is made up of professionals who are also people in long-term recovery. We know this journey—personally and professionally—and we know how powerful it is when parents and caregivers are supported, not blamed.

This group is built on our core values:
Compassionate. Collaborative. Ethical. Experienced. Inclusive.
We're not here to judge or fix—we’re here to walk beside you.

What to Expect

This is a therapist-facilitated, peer support group, open to all parents and caregivers of children (of any age) dealing with addictions, substance use and/or mental health concerns. Whether your child is a teenager in early crisis or an adult in long-term recovery, you are welcome here.

Our licensed facilitators—Colin Thomas, LAPC; Katie Headlee Jones, LMSW; and Allison Basham, LPC—help guide each session. We provide structure, supportive conversation, and general insight into emotional health, parenting, and recovery topics.

Please Note: This group is not a substitute for therapy or medical care. No individual diagnoses, treatment, or healthcare advice will be provided during the group. We’re here to support, not to treat.

You don’t have to do this alone. We’ll be here—every other Thursday night.
